From the Mailbag: My Brutally Honest Opinion of Armand Morin

October 30, 2007

Here’s a question received recently in the Experts Mailbag:

“I wanted to get your brutally honest opinion on Armand Morin seminars. I am considering attending his Freedom Factor seminar next weekend, even though it’s $1200 I really don’t have. I have to get out of this dead-end job and do something lucrative and worthwhile with my life.

I just really want to know, from someone who’s been to his seminars — is it going to be a 3-day long sales pitch to buy his products? Will he give out any real practical information that I can use without buying everything he offers? Or does it all tie in only with the products he’s selling?

Our finances are so tight that all I can see right now is the money I’m putting out because I have no guarantee of making the money back since I don’t know what to expect. The desire and drive is there in me, but all I can see right now is my dwindling bank account! Help! I need some honest advice about what to expect if I ‘m going to spend this kind of money.”

Thanks so much,
Jenna Pittman

Hi Jenna. I can certainly understand your dilemma, but I think you may have answered your own question in the second sentence. It is money that you say, “I really don’t have.” I don’t know where your business is now, but I would sit down and make a plan of where a fraction of that money could be spent to start earning enough to consider an event like this.

Still, I’m happy to answer your questions…

As far as my brutally honest opinion of Armand goes, I think he’s great and yes, he’s definitely a skilled salesman. He is one of the first people who helped me really think big in my business and gave me practical suggestions to make those big ideas really happen.

I have been to 3 BigSeminars, but have never been to Freedom Factor, so I may not be able to give you the most practical advice on how this event is run. But I’ll tell you my experience at BigSeminar. If I’ve attended 3, I’m sure you can guess that I have found it to be a very valuable experience. Armand’s presentations are always very valuable, but you bet, there is always an offer to buy more.

Do you need to buy more to make use of his advice? Nope.

Is it tempting? You bet. After all, you are so tempted to go to the seminar because he has sold you so well on the idea.

If you do go (and I’m really not sure that it’s the best time for you to do this), go there with the goal of getting as much as you can out of the weekend, returning home and applying what you learned and seeing the results. Then, when you have enough money you can consider any other continuing education opportunities that are presented to you.

By the way, I believe one of our other experts, Lynette Chandler has attended Freedom Factor in the past.  I will ask her to share her thoughts in the comments area, so hang tight.

    Jenna,

It’s Armand and first I would say, if it’s your last dollar don’t come. Not that I don’t want you there, but that makes a lot pressure on you. Time is of vital importance for anything.

    First off… It’s not $1200 it’s only $497. :)

3 Days Just me.. NO other speakers.

FreedomFactor is NOT about marketing, it’s all about mindset. It’s a complete head to toe system about how you can literally change the way you think for ever in 3 days. Sound impossible? Well, I’ve done it for a small group of people for almost 2 years.

I can guarantee one thing, you won’t see this system taught anywhere else. I’ll also be
teaching my SECRET TECHNOLOGY which will allow you to change your mind in 30 minutes!!!

This is not a pitch-a-thon. Will there be an offer yes? Only 1 on Sunday. Do you have to buy anything to make this system work? NOPE!!!

The 3 day training is complete without purchasing anything else. I think that says it all.

If you come, come up and say hi. If not, I’m sure we’ll see each other another time. :)

    Armand

I don’t know that much about Armand Morin, but I have to agree with Alice. And I know I’m giving unsolicited advice, but I believe if you’re already in a tight financial situation, spending $1200, or $497 for that matter, isn’t a good use of the limited funds you have.

Surely there’s some type of advertising you could do to generate more business. Do you have a new product that you could send out emails to your customer base and share with them? Have you done something that would be worthy of a news release? That would generate interest without costing you an arm and a leg.

I’m sure that the system Armand teaches will make a difference in your outlook, but it might be wise to wait until you’re on better financial footing before spending the money.

Just my opinion, and please forgive me for jumping in and expressing it. :)

Armand, I noticed the price difference too, but I’m guessing she is calculating her transportation and hotel too?

Thanks for dropping by to share more details.

Hey sorry I’m late to the party. I had written up this humongous post and let my connection die and didn’t feel like writing it again so I’m back now with a shorter version (hopefully).

I am so very glad Armand came by because both his and Alice’s advise is pretty much what I will tell you also. I honestly, spent money I did not have to attend the Big Seminar - I won’t go into details but I did somehow luck out on that.

Like Armand says, Freedom Factor is not about Internet Marketing. It’s more about training your self and inner self to be ready for business. At least that’s the way I interpreted it. I’ve attended only one FF so far and it was the first one. I am not sure if there has been much change. I think there is because Armand presented a lot of his plans and there looks like a lot of new stuff.

The technology he mentioned I just used yesterday and it can be quite amazing… let’s just say mind-altering and I mean it literally.

However the bottom line for you, I don’t think this is the right investment for you. Even Big Seminar - I won’t recommend it for you. Like I said, I went to my first Big Seminar on money I did not have. While it was fruitful and it did pay me back in many different ways - not necessarily immediate income.

Yet, I have always felt one will benefit a whole lot more if you already have a business going. Don’t get me wrong I know some people go to the seminar fresh and start off there. But to me, the mileage is a whole lot better if you spent your precious resource on some humble learning resources - Alice has great stuff. If you think you can make it, come on over to http://www.MomMasterminds.com

Then once your business is going and you gain momentum. The seminars will be real good to further grow your contacts - which could lead to more partnerships, JV’s etc.

    Hello Jenna
I would like to offer a perspective from how I have experienced Big Seminar and Freedom Factor.
For starters I am Lynette`s husband.I have watched and supported her growth online from the beginning. When she says we didn`t have the money for her first Big Seminar We really didn`t .But the processes and the contacts made have proven their worth many times over.
I went to Big Seminar 8 with Lynette.I took a brand new web site and a lot of questions.I met such a wide range of I.M.`s I sat down with Rick Radditz for over 2 hours and grilled him and listened to what he had to say.I sat and talked with Jim Edwards,Dr.Mike,Sylvie and Michel Fortin.I took away from these conversations such an improved insight that would never have happened had I not went. Armand is probably the most convincing salesman I have ever met.I think it has a lot to do with he presents valuable information and quality products in everything he does.I did not buy any other products or memberships of Armand`s at that time as I didn`t feel I was ready for that level.I did buy into Sylvie`s Outsourcing Mastery package. I work a full time job so my online time is limited and it was the next logical step in my business.Again this was money I didn`t have but a necessity to grow.
When I got home I realized I had more questions and doubts than before I went. When the first Freedom Factor came about we decided to go and see what it was all about.
As Armand said above it is more about your mindset, and it is 3 intense days with Armand. The event is packed with exercises that force you to look at how you think and come to your decisions. He asks you questions sometimes as a group but even more on a one to one basis.
I could go on and on about the benefits of going but instead I will shorten this to say.
No it is not a 3 day sales pitch and it is not a miraculous go home and money start pouring in solution. It is a process that changes how you look at things and how you think. I think a key is something you said,I have no guarantee of making the money back. There are no guarantees that any of us will make another dime. But with the right decisions and effort it is a pretty good chance that we will.If you do nothing different than nothing will be different.

First and foremost look at your business, where is it going ,where is it right now? How is your funds best spent to improve your position?
All the seminars and products in the world mean nothing if you are not working it.
Chances are you will not see an immediate changes in your business. It takes time to grow all the ideas and processes you learn. But we all need training to reach that next level.Big Seminar and Freedom Factor are excellent training tools that I recommend for anyone who is serious about getting away from a regular J.O.B.
I have not found any fast shortcuts, but I have found that none of this is so hard that I can`t do it.Armand has a question,What is the next Logical Step.I say you ask yourself what is your next logical step? If training for your future is it then by all means go. But if spending that money that you don`t have is better used in advertising or elsewhere`s then by all means wait to go at a better time.I wish you luck in this decision and future prosperity in your business.

The Sales Training Series: How To Sell Solutions

Salespeople are commonly told to sell solutions and value rather than just product features. But when the time comes to present their products, they fall back on generic scripts with no direct connection to any specific needs the customer has revealed….

Got something to say?
