eBay Has Discounted Their Final Value Fees - Limited Time

May 24, 2008

Cool eBay news… through June 1st you can get 15% off your Final Value Fees when you offer Free Shipping on eBay.com.

If you haven’t tried offering free shipping before - this is a great time. The best way to take advantage of this is to be sure to use the shipping offer to entice your bidders to look at other auctions too! I would put large - bold letters at the top of your listing announcing the shipping special… and then be sure to include a link to your other listings so it is easy for your bidders to see what other auctions you have running.
Here are the details from eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/promo/15FVF0523/

Enjoy!

I know I’m too late to take advantage of the discount eBay was offering, but was wondering why they don’t offer discounts for people that purchase often, or use PayPal only when paying. It seems loyalty should count for something.

    I hear you…
I think to find discounts - you’ll have to look for that from specific sellers. I always encourage sellers to offer shipping discounts and to follow up with their customers with coupons and discounts too! From a sellers perspective this is a huge market and unfornately many miss out on.

The problem with this type of offer coming directly from eBay - it comes out of the sellers’ pocket… not eBay. eBay makes nothing from the bidders… only from the sellers. Of course, it is a never ending circle because without the bidders, there wouldn’t be any sellers to make eBay the company it is today.

I been thinking about using Free shipping but it just worries me that i would lose money. But i would up the price of my items. It is just not by a lot. Ebay fees and paypal fees have to come out and I want to make sure I make some money. It is time to be competitive with this new feedback rating dependency i been forced to live with.

Got something to say?
